The best 4x6" LED Headlights for 2023 by Pro Vision Lighting Australia

Coming into 2023 there is one 4x6 Inch LED Headlight that stands head and shoulders above the rest.

I call it The Terminator!

Have a look at the specifications and details here ->

4x6" Terminator LED Headlights

The reason I want to plug these lights is that they are absolute beasts and virtually indestructible.

Most of my professional drivers are now getting these and the results are fantastic.

A quick tip for setting them up is to use the H4 H/L plug as a multi-functional system to set them up in a High/Low position however you want. For example; Car users generally have 4x lights across the front of the vehicle in the 4x6", like some of the 60 series Toyota Landcruisers, old Chryslers, Trucks like some Kenworth, quad bikes, etc... And the best way to set them up is to only have low beam hooked up on the outer lights and then hook them up so that when you hit high beam all the 4x lights are on High + Low.

Ok, so i get a lot of questions about legalities, and I have done a whole separate blog about Asymmetrical headlamps and Symmetrical headlamp differences here ->

Are LED headlights Legal?

An important aspect of the terminator is the light spread, or the area of light being covered, and the quality of that light. What I mean is that some led headlamps have bad light coverage that is scattered and distracting. The great thing about the Terminator 4x6 is that it has precision-engineered projector lenses that maximize the spread of light forward and to the sides in a way that is uniform and easy on the eye.

Another issue with led headlights and/or some vehicle electrical systems is that they can get bad radio interference, or, the computers in the vehicle do not like the lower resistance of led lights and can cause errors or warning lights. A high-quality led headlight should have a measure of Electro Magnetic Compatibility, (EMC), and Controller Area Network compatibility, (Can-bus), this will alleviate most older analog systems and more digitized systems compatibility errors. The terminator 4x6 inch has the latest in advanced electrical engineering so as to minimize problems poor led headlamps can generate.

***Cheap Tip: Your auto electrician can make up  the difference between the resistance of a filament  (amp current draw) with a 50 cent Resistor, and radio suppressors cost a penny as well ;)

The advantage of using LED over halogen, or HID, is that halogen filaments break, HID are too harsh on the eyes and have too many moving parts, (such as ballasts and ignitors), whereas high-quality custom made LED's for headlamps are low glare/high brightness, and have 100x the life of halogen and more than 10x the life of HID.

if you really need to get better lighting i would suggest getting the Terminator 4x6 inch led headlight replacements, you won't be disappointed.

Laser Lighting for Off-Road 4x4 Vehicles

LASER Headlamps & Laser Light Bars – Everything You Need to Know.

The latest in advanced engineering for off-road vehicles are the Hybrid Laser + LED Headlight and Light Bar technology.
Laser technology makes a huge improvement to the amount of distance you can get out of your spot-beam light, (around 1250mtrs), for headlamp lights, and for the light bars around 1LUX@ 900mtrs for the 14" Single Row, around 1600mtrs for the 50" Dual Row The added led's around the lights give you a spread of light across each side of the road for a full universal result for distance and width while driving at night. The lights come with everything you need for easy fitting, and the laser headlamps are available in a 5 3/4 inch and a 7 inch round, to suit a wide range of motorcycles, cars, and trucks that use a standard semi-sealed and sealed beam type of lamp housing, or they can be used in conjunction with the supplied mounting brackets for bull-bars as an auxiliary light.
The latest in headlights and lightbars for motoring enthusiasts have just arrived! Enjoy!
Check them out on the website here - Laser Headlamps,  Laser Light Bars.

Are Lasers Safe on the Eyes?

In short, yes. The Pro Vision Lighting Laser Headlamp are certified FDA EN 62471 approved, ( “laser illuminated projector” (LIP) ), to comply with the safety standards required for laser products used in indoor or outdoor cinema theatres, laser shows, presentations at conventions, as image/data projectors in an office setting, in a home, or in this case for auxiliary headlamps so that they are non-harmful to your eyes, (their optical design ensures that the beam of light does not dazzle or cause glare for other drivers).

Why are they Still using LED's with them?

As mentioned before, the laser part of the light is a spotlight type of beam to generate an enormous amount of beam distance, while the led's, (Top Grade CREE XM-L LED's for the Headlamp and German-made OSRAM for the light bar), are specifically engineered and seated in precision reflectors to light up the sides of the road for a better and safer field of vision while driving at night.

What are the benefits of using the Laser Headlights and Light Bars compared to halogen, HID, or LED?

Laser lights are approximately four times brighter than led and have around twice the amount of efficiency, (this is being conservative).
The benefits of integrating laser technology into auxiliary headlamps is that they generate an extremely high luminosity giving you a much longer visual array of Distance + the added visual area of Width with the led's.
Compared to halogen and HID?
To halogen, the laser is brighter, give better clarity of vision, last longer, and are more stable. Compared to HID, the laser is more stable, last longer, and will give you more distance.

Are They Waterproof?

The Pro Vision Laser Headlamp is rated IP68 water and dust-proof so that you can use them in a wide range of environments.
Whether you are in high or low altitudes, tropical or dry climates, the environmental protection for the laser light is built to handle any adventures you want to take them on.

What about Shock-proofing for the Laser Lights?

Each headlight and lightbar is built tough to withstand vibration and jarring.
Polycarbonate lenses, heavy-duty bracket assemblies, a heavy-duty lightweight housing, and vibration protected components inside the light ensure that no matter what rough terrain you take the lights through, they will stand up to anything that you can throw at them.

Do They Need a Special Relay Harness?

The laser headlamps and lightbars are electrically designed for 12v and 24v integration and will work with a vehicles standard 12v or 24v electrical system, the low current draw/high output of the lights ensures that the vehicles standard H4 H/L headlight connector, (for headlamps), is sufficient to run the lights, (H13 H/L, HB1 9004, and HB5 9007 adapters are available on request).
The laser headlamp lights are also easily interchangeable into an existing harness to upgrade your auxiliary lights if you prefer.
Note*** By law, we always advise you to get an auto electrician to fit the lights and check the ampere compatibility and switching system for best results.

What Colour Temperature is the Laser Headlamp?

The laser + led headlamp and light bar lights are around 5500k-5700k pure white, (Lasers utilize phosphor to get the pure white colour). This is around midday sunlight, and from what modern science tells us, this colour temperature is the best light that our eyes have evolved to, to best see the contrast of objects.
Keep in mind, everyone's' eyes are different and react differently to different colours, but technically speaking, the colour temperature of our laser headlight are the best colour temperature for you to be able to see clearly with at night.

Can i use them on Main Roads?

At this time we are classifying them all as suitable for "off-road only" use, as with new technology, we cannot guarantee them as ADR approved as the vehicle would have to get an engineering certificate in your state, and to our knowledge, none exist yet. Check out the following link for one of the better explanations we have seen concerning auxiliary lighting rules and regulations - Auxiliary Lighting Guidelines.
