LED Headlight Control Modules for DRLs (Daytime Running Lights)

The search for affordable LED headlight control modules for daytime running lights (DRLs) has become a growing challenge for many vehicle owners. High dealership costs and compatibility issues can make replacing these modules a frustrating experience. At Pro Vision Lighting & Electrical, we’re beginning to introduce after-market solutions that deliver reliable performance without costing the earth.

Key Considerations When Replacing Your Headlight Control Module

1.      Used Modules and Coding Issues:
We’ve noticed that when people buy used headlight control modules, they often run into coding problems. This typically happens because the used module is already coded to the original vehicle it came from. In some cases, your scan tool—or the module itself—doesn’t have the capability to clear the existing code or reset the computer, making it difficult or impossible to re-code the module for your own vehicle.

2.      New Modules Offer a Clean Slate:
With new LED modules, 99% of the time, the vehicle’s computer readily accepts them because they start with a clean slate. In certain instances, you may still need a scan tool to reset the system. However, new modules generally have fewer compatibility issues than used ones.

3.      Matching Part Numbers and Configurations:
Sometimes the same module model number may be used across different vehicle trims or regions, each with a slightly different function. For example, a base model’s module might lack the capabilities required for upgraded features like a “laser function” or support for a different territory’s standards (EU vs. USA). Often, if the part number matches, the module is new, and the pin configuration aligns with your existing setup, it’s worth trying. Make sure you can return it if it doesn’t work out.

Finding Reliable After-Market Solutions

We are compiling a list of tried-and-tested products on our website to help you find compatible, cost-effective LED headlight control modules for DRLs. By offering these options, we aim to save our customers from paying thousands of dollars for a complete headlight assembly at the dealership.

Our Mission: Saving You Money

Dealerships often force customers into buying entire headlights at exorbitant prices. If we can assist in cutting those costs by providing trustworthy after-market LED headlight control modules, then we’ve achieved our goal.
